Have you ever wanted to know about Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander peoples' connection with the land, family, law, ceremony,
and language? These are the Interconnected elements that make up indigenous
culture.
The Human Library is designed to
challenge stereotypes and prejudice. Through conversation and understanding, it
aims to build respectful relationships and communities. The Human Library is a
place where real people are on loan to readers to hear and learn about their
experiences and can share their knowledge (humanlibrary.org).
In partnership with NAIDOC week, Azure Beach Library is
proud to present its first Indigenous Human Library. We will have available
to borrow, 10 human books. Each book will share with you an Interconnected
element. You will spend 15 minutes with your borrowed book where you can have a
conversation.
Come to the library, borrow a book, and learn about
interconnection at the Azure Beach Library. Books available to borrow:
