 International Youth Day - Scavenger Hunt

Are you up for a fun-filled day at the City Park and a chance to win prizes?

Enjoying hunting for treasure as a group activity, where you’ll engage with others, collaborate to achieve a common goal, and have the chance to win prizes. This fun outdoor event promotes digital sustainability.  


International Youth Day 2025: Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future highlights the vital role that young people play in leveraging digital technology to build a better and more sustainable future. 

This event is designed to promote young adults’ use of digital technology skills and teamwork abilities as they take on engaging quests in an exciting scavenger hunt. This outdoor activity will encourage participants to explore Azure Beach Park using their mobile device to take on challenges such as solving trivia, deciphering cryptic clues, and completing photo/video tasks.  

You will have fun attending the event - engaging with others, working together to achieve a goal, and having the chance to win prizes. It's a great opportunity to build connections, learn new things, make new friends, and enjoy a memorable experience.   

 

This is a FREE event!

Get on the Path to a Greener Future


SUSTAINABLE CAREERS NIGHT


International Youth Day Event 

Where: Azure Room, Azure Beach Library, 8 River St. 

When: 5:30-7pm, 12 August 2025 

Who: 15-24 year-olds looking for sustainable careers 

Cost: FREE!


Come on down to the Sustainable Careers Night at Azure Beach Library to learn how you can make a difference in the world. Hear from THREE STUDENTS who are using digital technology to turbocharge eco-friendly fashion, forestry and marine conservation. 

There will be speeches, Q & A and the chance for some 1-on-1 with our inspiring presenters.

Milly is finishing her Diploma in Fashion at TAFE Coffs Harbour and brings amazing stories from her recent placement in Sydney with the sustainable fashion brand, Bondi Born.

A final-year student at the Marine Science Centre, Southern Cross University, Josh will take up a dream job next year as a marine conservationist working on protecting our beautiful Barrier Reef.

A tutor and PhD student in Information Technology at Southern Cross University, Rahul has been an intern with the CSIRO and will share his passion for using AI to make forestry sustainable.

     Come One Come All and join us for                    International Youth Day 2025!!


Have you ever wondered if there is more out there for you or felt inspired to try something new?? Well, we have a treat for you!!

Come along to the Azure Beach Public Library to celebrate IYD 2025. This year we have engaged Phoebe, Tristan and Casey who will happily share how they have turned “trash into treasure” and living their best lives.

Phoebe will inspire with her mosaic creations made from broken crockery. Tristan will entertain as he demonstrates sea glass art and Casey will motivate as she turns a broken spoon into a living work of ART.

Get Trashed – Creatively ;-) Make Art, Not Trash!

Are you aged 15-24 years? Then this is YOUR chance to get creative and help the environment! This fun event led by local artist Kath Fries, will both inspire and intrigue! 

Kath Fries will give a short talk and show you her AMAZING sculptures (made with natural, growing and discarded objects) followed by a workshop where you will create your own piece of art with a combination of clay, paint, found or natural items. No artistic skill required – just an open mind!
 
Learn about how we can use the environment around us to help create a sustainable clean and beautiful planet.
 
This event will be held at Azure Beach Library as part of the UN’s International Youth Day 2025 theme of “Youth Empowerment for Sustainability”.
