Join other crafty-minded peers to collect, curate and celebrate International Youth Day 


What's this 'IYD' business?

 Tuesday August 12th is International Youth Day, a day all about young people and the issues they face. 

To find out more about International Youth Day and the Sustainable Development Goals, click here for a brief overview.

Did you know? Half of the world's population is 30 or younger. That's some serious people power!  


Junk journalling is an emerging trend on Instagram, TikTok, Threads and more.This event will teach you how to become a 'Responsible Consumer' by reducing, reusing and recycling waste to create mementos of your life.  


 

 

 

What do I need to bring?

Bring your receipts, movie tickets, food wrappers and other paper rubbish. 

All your essential craft supplies (scissors, glue, notebook) will be provided. 

Feel free to bring any additional stickers, washi tape or photos you'd like to use.

Join us for International Youth Day,

Azure Beach Public Library is hosting a creative workshop right in our courtyard. This workshop will align with this year's theme: Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future and aim to raise awareness around recycling and waste reduction.

In this workshop we will be transforming used tin cans into beautiful pots for our plants. So come along and create something useful out of the trash you planned on throwing away.

Join us and learn how energy, water, agriculture, and even waste industries relate to our ecological impact and what can or will be done in upcoming years.

Get ready to stitch, style, and save the planet at our International Youth Day event! Join us at Azure Beach Library on 12 August 2025, from 4:00–5:30 PM, for Revamp & Restyle – a creative upcycling workshop just for youth aged 15–24. 

This hands-on event will teach you how to transform your worn-out clothes into bold new fashion using sewing, patching, embroidery, and more. Bring an old item of clothing, and leave with a fresh, eco-friendly look you’ve created yourself! Register here to reserve your spot.
