About the event

This year's theme for International Youth day is "Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond”.

Azure Beach Library is excited to introduce our guest speaker, Ana Rose. She is an Australian speaker and environmentalist who works on initiatives to help Australia tackle climate crisis. Ana's climate journey began at high school and continued through university led her to co-found the Australia Youth Climate Coalition and became the National Co-Director.

This event will unpack real-world climate solutions, youth activism and how local actions connect to the SDG's (Sustainable Development Goals).

A Q&A will be followed towards the end of session, hosted by our speaker. We encourage our youth to share their personal experiences, insights and innovations towards SDG's.

We hope to amplify our youth voices, promote peer learning and equip you with tools, knowledge and motivation for a sustainable future.

So, if you think you know what's fake and what's not let’s put that knowledge to the test.

Join us on the 12th of August and show us what you’ve got.

What is Actually Happening???

In partnership with Azure Beach High School, six youth leaders will lead an interactive trivia/quiz tournament that will cover our local/national events, UN Sustainability goals and digital techniques that have been warped by misinformation. The quiz was created by our very own youth leaders over the last five months in collaboration with the Azure Beach Public Library and the event is to be MC by a member of our NSW Youth UN.

Our community will be challenged as they take on the forces of misinformation. This is open to all of our community but especially our incredible Youth, any participant can join the quiz with any digital device that they can bring from home or be supplied by the library. Participants will be encouraged to critically analyse information and find creative solutions to using digital systems.

There are plenty of prizes to be won for those who can best our quiz.
