International Youth Day 2024

A Need? or A Greed?

Diving into the overconsumption ‘trend’
International Youth Day 2024 is “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development”

If you often find yourself doom scrolling on Tiktok, you have probably seen some fashion influencer doing a ‘Massive $700 SHEIN Haul’ in a sponsored post, Or maybe you have seen one of those Stanley influencers that ‘pack’ their Stanleys to go run their errands, with all their products they use listed in their Amazon storefront. Because of social media like TikTok, over-consumption has become trendy because of the fast paced content that can be spat out by users.

The Azure Beach Library is putting on a TED Talk like event for youth, teaching them about being more sustainable, and the dangers of falling into the overconsumption ‘trend’, hosted by a local sustainability Influencer.

Who: Youth aged 15-25

When: 12th August, 2024 at 4:30pm

Where: Azure Beach Library, Azure Room

Why: Promote a sustainable consumer ideology

Cost: Free but registration needed

Limited Spots Available!
