Phoebe will inspire with her mosaic creations made from broken crockery. Tristan will entertain as he demonstrates sea glass art and Casey will motivate as she turns a broken spoon into a living work of ART.

The use of Artificial Intelligence in the art industry, especially image generation software like Dall.E and Midjourney, has quickly become a controversial topic. Arguments around productivity, morality, and environmental costs rife on social media. Here is a BBC article outlining some key points of the issue.

In partnership with the United Nations' International Youth Day and the Azure Beach Regional Art Gallery, Azure Beach Public Library is holding an art event where young artists between the ages of 15 and 24 can learn about this technology, and express their own opinions on it through art! Whether you are for or against the use of A.I. in art, we at Azure Beach Public Library

The best part though? Once you're done, we'll promote your art on our social media! (With your permission of course.) What better way to get started on growing your artistic social media presence?

Spots for this event are limited, so make sure to RSVP so your voice is heard and your art is seen!

Behind the Art: A Human Library Event

Photo by Ari He on Unsplash

To help celebrate and bring together Azure Beaches diverse community, Azure Beach Public Library will be running a Human Library with the theme, “Behind the Art”. Throughout history Art has been able to cross cultural boundaries, as it can be understood in any language and all social groups, and our hope is that we will be able to do the same with this event. A Human Library is similar to regular library where people go to check out books. The only difference is that the books are all human volunteers who have chosen to speak about themselves and their experiences openly to an interested audience and answer question. All of the 'Books' in this Human Library are local artists and will have a selection of their works with them.

This event is going to be carried it in conjuncture with Harmony week, this years theme being "Everyone Belongs". The ‘Books’ will be made up of local artists from a variety of backgrounds. The event aims to support the Arts and local creative industries as well as exploring questions like, What does an artist look like?, Is Art important?, What does it mean to be an artist?, etc.
