Dying to Know Day
Event description.
It happens to all of us, death, dying, grief, why then is it so hard to talk about, to prepare, to plan?
Our Dying to Know Day event will put you in touch with people who care and can help you initiate these conversations, this 'Death Literacy' with your loved ones so that all of us can be celebrated and remembered the way we chose to be.
When reading a Human book, you control the conversation and it goes where you, the reader, wants it to. You get the chance to ask the questions you want to know but have not been previously able to ask. Our human library will consist of volunteers who are happy to share their knowledge and experiences with you, no question is off limits - dont leave with regrets.
We will be covering topics such as:
How to communicate your wishes to your family
What is an Advance Care Plan, what are the benefits of having one and how to write one?
How to arrange a natural burial.
Learn the role of a death doula.
How to ask your loved one what their last wishes are.
Losing a child.
