Are you 15-24 and interested in hearing from other people your age? Well, this is the event for you!

Azure Beach Library invites you to come for an exciting event where we will be listening to and discussing with top performing youth members and discussing their achievements and ways they are hoping their contribution will impact the future world and environment and how you can contribute to society as well. The event is a TED style talk where you will be able to:

Learn what organisations and events you can get involved in

Ask our speakers questions about what they care about and how they are actively impacting the world right now

Meet and connect with other youth your age in your community that care and want to change the world with you

This workshop will align with this year's theme: Youth-driven solutions for a sustainable future.

Do you want your art to have a political impact?

We want to see your vision!

Come to the Cove Meeting Room at Azure Beach Public Library on 12 August 2025 at 4:15 pm (for a start time of 4:30pm) to join a collaborative art-making session with other young creatives.

To celebrate International Youth Day, you and your peers will create a 3-panel artwork about the future you want to live in. Your artwork will be displayed in Azure Beach Town Hall.

You’ll be supported by local mural and mixed-media collage artist Susie Haynes to deliver three pieces you’ll be proud to display. You’ll also collaborate to prepare an artist statement that will be hung with the work to ensure your message is clear to your community.

Basic materials will be provided free of charge, but bring anything you like to create with – photos, fabric, your favourite acrylic/watercolour paint – and tell a friend!

During this event, you will be guided by a local computer science educator on what the library is currently doing to stay digitally sustainable, and some other sustainable processes that companies and people are using worldwide. After that, we want to hear your suggestions for sustainability! Azure Beach Library is always looking for community input, and we would love to hear your ideas and what we can do better, especially surrounding our sustainable digital practices. Your ideas and thoughts are incredible valuable to us, and we always want to do better.

Over the last few months our team at Azure Beach Library have been cooking away at a special project, and we are so excited to announce our event as part of the wider International Youth Day program….

Pathways @ Azure Beach Library!

Over the coming weeks, three groups of students from the local Southern Cross University campus will be working on a serious of presentations in the fields of Engineering, Social Sciences, and Environmental Science. Students from local high schools, as well as the local TAFE campus will be invited to attended Azure Beach Library to learn directly about future study and career options from their own peers, with presentations and question times being run from 1:00pm - 2:30pm on the 12^th of August, 2025 in the Library Courtyard. Attendance will be free and facilitated by participating educational institutions.

This event is in line with 2025’s International Youth Day Theme, Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future, for which more information can be found on the UN’s website here.

Be sure to wear your best, as part of Azure Beach TAFE’s contribution to, a film crew will be present to produce a short film on the event and share their experiences of tertiary education.

Food and Drink will be available at the library café but be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen as this event will be held outdoors!

Are you a young person who is interested in gardening? Want to learn more about sustainability and the environment?

This International Youth Day, Azure Beach Public Library invites young people to participate in a terrarium making workshop. A terrarium is a miniature self-sustaining ecosystem contained inside a glass jar. With the help of two experts from the Azure Beach Council Bushcare Volunteer Group, you will be guided through the process of building your own terrarium and shown how these tiny ecosystems can act as a model for our natural environment. The best part? You get to take your finished terrarium home at the end of the event.

Ready to celebrate International Youth Day 2025 with a hands-on, high-energy experience that’s anything but ordinary? Azure Beach Public Library invites youth aged 15–24, to join us in the Library Courtyard for a fun, interactive event that’s all about movement, creativity and sustainability.

What’s Happening?

We’re turning the courtyard into a smoothie-powered sustainability zone with pedal-powered blender bikes from Sweet Pedal. Use your own energy to whip up a delicious smoothie.

International Youth Day 'Round Table Talk'

International Youth Day 'Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond' 

International Youth Day is held every year on the 12th of August to raise awareness of issues affecting youth and to celebrate their contributions to society.

This year Azure Beach Public Library is holding a 'Round Table Talk' with a local council liaison officer, and we're inviting local youths (15-24 year olds) to come and have their voices heard for our community's future.
This event is to engage youths and their creativity, energy, and community knowledge. 

When: 12th August

Where: Azure Beach Public Library - Cove Meeting Room

Time: 3:30pm to 5:00pm

Cost: Free

What to Bring: Pen, paper, and your ideas about how we can better the sustainable future of Azure Beach.
