'Youth, Lit: RenewABLE Challenge'
Or a uni student aged 19-24 with science knowledge to share?
Say hello to your latest challenge.
Over eight weeks, students in the Youth, Lit: RenewABLE Challenge will find creative ways to promote climate health in their local environment.
Peer mentors from Southern Cross University's science and engineering faculties will support Azure Beach High School students through the innovation process.
In small groups (two students per mentor), they will integrate renewable energy technologies including solar energy, wave and tidal power into designs that meet real community needs.
They will consult with researchers, council and community stakeholders as part of the project.
This challenge is run in partnership with Southern Cross University and the National Marine Science Centre.
It celebrates the United Nations’ International Youth Day 2025 theme of ‘Youth empowerment for sustainable development’.
