As we stand at a crossroad of technological
and environmental transformation. It’s now up to our youth to vision a
sustainable future.
In celebration of
International Youth Day 2024, Azure Beach Public Library is excited to announce
the Youth Pathways to a
Sustainable Future Exhibition, featuring a vibrant Podcast and
Digital Poster Competition. Azure Beach Public Library has teamed up with local
high schools and is encouraging all students in Years 7 to 10 to deal with
unprecedented critical global challenges using their knowledge and skills for
creativity and digital technology. Whether
it’s about innovation for sustainability, celebrating digital advancements or
developing digital knowledge in response to widespread environmental challenges
and sustainable solutions, this Competition aims to empower our youth to
lead the way.
Participants are encouraged to submit a
digital poster or recorded podcast that visually communicates digital knowledge, skills and tools that can
contribute to digital pathways for sustainable development. All entries will be showcased as part
of a special exhibition at the Azure Beach Public Library, from 13 August to 30
September 2024.
Dr Annabelle Crouch
from Woolcox University will be a keynote speaker at the Exhibition’s opening
event on 12 August. Dr Crouch will highlight the importance of youth
involvement in visioning and shaping our sustainability efforts. The finalists and winners of each
category will also be announced, as well the screening of their creative works.
We encourage educators, parents and
carers and community members to support our young people in this initiative. We
look forward to seeing the incredible entries in paving a way for a more
sustainable future together.
