Dementia Action Week 2023 Human Library Event
As part of Dementia Action Week 2023, Azure Beach Public Library, partnered with Dementia Australia, is hosting a Human Library event where you can borrow Human “Books" to have an informal conversation. We have invited four Human “books” who share their stories with others in a safe environment. It is an opportunity for you to connect with people they would not normally have the occasion to speak to within their community, to better understand the life experiences of others and to challenge their own assumptions, prejudices and stereotypes. Each of our human “books” can be borrowed for up to 30 minutes for you to listen to their stories and learn what they know.
How about a date with a good book?
When: Monday, 18 September 2023
Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Where: Azure Beach Public Library, Library Courtyard

What is a Human Library - It is a concept that allows people to borrow human beings instead of books and have conversations with them. The idea is to challenge stereotypes and prejudices by facilitating dialogue between different groups of people. For more information visit https://humanlibrary.org/
