Did you know?  Australia imports over 1.42 billion units of fashion a year and every year we throw away more than 200,000 tonnes of clothing, almost 4 times the weight of the Sydney Harbour Bridge
(The Australia Institute, May 29,2024).

Where does this clothing end up? - As textile waste in landfill.

Do you want to make a difference? - Reduce clothing waste.

How?Upcycling and repurposing your old clothes.

Who? - For youth aged between 15-24 years.

👕 Come to a fun workshop at the Library. Discover how to upcycle your old T-shirt, transform the old and create a new trendy look.
No sewing experience needed.

👕 The Library is partnering with Debra from Azure Beach Upcycle & Reuse. Debra leads a team that is passionate about sustainable textile practices, sustainability education and have extensive experience in delivering fun practical workshops for young people.
They will provide all the equipment and extra reclaimed textiles needed to inspire your creativity and information to encourage your efforts to reduce textiles going to landfill.
