Azure Beach Public Library presents an International Youth Day Event.
When: Join us on Tuesday August 12th 2025 after school.
What time: 3:45pm - 5pm.
Where: Find us in the Cove Meeting Room at Azure Beach Public Library!
Who: Are you aged 15-18 years old, and still in school? We'd love to invite you to an afternoon of crafting and sewing reflecting on the idea of sustainability and collaboration.
Why: United Nations International Youth Day 2025 is focusing on the idea of Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future. Azure Beach Public Library believes that collaboration and collective impact are great skills to learn and develop in addressing issues like sustainability and that is why we are hosting a sewing workshop turning scrap fabrics into everyday useable items like library book bags! Hosted with recently graduated high school students, it's a great place to make new friends, work together on a creative problem-solving project and discuss ideas about sustainability, the environment, concepts like empowerment with people just a few steps ahead of you.
How do I sign up? It's free to come along, and please register online to attend the workshop.
Accessibility: There will be an AUSLAN interpreter present for the program, and printed instructions with diagrams and pictures available in multiple languages. For those that need a quieter room with dimmer lighting, there will be an additional space to work in.
