Out of the Closet and Into the Streets!

Sydney’s first Mardi Gras was more than a riot of a time. It was an actual riot! Now, it’s an excuse to dress up in glitter and sparkles. We love these outfits, but we also love those in queer history who fought for safety, visibility, and respect. What was Mardi Gras like then? How have we come, and how far do we have left to go? We want to bridge the gap between queer elders and youth as we answer these questions and more. Come along to Azure Beach Public Library on the 9^th February 2025 and find out!
