In the Harmonious Spirit?
Join us for Harmony week this year as we celebrate our diverse community through our Human library event “Connecting the past, present & future: promoting harmony through conversations”. All around the country, Australians will be celebrating the beauty of multiculturalism so why not come do the same? Have a chat with members of your local community from a diverse range of backgrounds and create conversations that celebrate what this country has to offer. Feel free to ask questions about their experiences, their foods and their hopes and expectations of this wonderful land. Wondering what a human library is? It’s exactly what it sounds like! Each “human” acts as a book, where you can “borrow” them and hear about their wonderful experiences, their challenges and their dreams of life in Australia.
About the event:
Azure Beach Library has created this event in collaboration with the Human Library Organisation in which there will be four humans (or “books”), with 20 attendees (or borrowers) each session. Attendees will be able to “borrow” their human for up to 20 minutes. Each session will aim to open up discussion on what it means to live in a multicultural modern Australia.
