Dementia is a disease that affects the brain. There are many varying types and symptoms as it affects different areas of the brain but is equally difficult for anyone who lives with this condition.

According to the Australian Governments Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, people living with dementia is estimated to be between 386,200-472,000 within Australia. This number will likely double by 2058 as the aging population grows.

A Human Library is similar to a traditional library in that you borrow a book to experience a story, except the books you borrow are humans and they will share with you their personal stories though conversations.

The Human Library Organisation’s mission is to connect people with each other and break down stigmas and barriers between people.
