Some Statistics:

The planet is suffering from a major problem i.e. "Mental Health" which is the main cause of other health issues such as high blood pressure, heart problems, and other chronic diseases. This also impacts the individual's social life, behaviour, decision-making power, interpersonal relationships, and perception, and it likewise determines how an individual handles daily situations and handles stress. These days majority of the population is, directly or indirectly, suffering from some sort of mental health condition.

According to WHO, 1 out of 5, approx 21% of the Australian population, aged between 16 and 85 experienced some form of Mental Health issues.

What is a Living/Human Library?

A Living Library is where you, as a reader, borrow a 'book' about a certain topic. This 'book' doesn't have pages, it's a person who has a large amount of knowledge on the subject they are talking about. The 'books' available on the day come from different backgrounds and have become experts on Mental Health Issues and Well Being. These experienced human books are from well-professional backgrounds who have already helped thousands of individuals to come out of Mental Health problems.

This Event:

This program is to reduce social stigma around mental health and encourage honest conversations.

The event's activities:

  • Hear and learn from the experiences of our Human Books on mental health.
  • Relaxing activities such as fun art music, and singing activities to involve yourself.
  • Learn skills and techniques from professionals to improve mental health, and stress in day-to-day activities.

Sharing is caring, please share this post with others, you never know who may need it.
