In recognistion of Refugee Week, Azure Beach Public Library is proud to be hosting a human library event. Azure Beach has undertaken a commitment to become a Refugee Welcome Zone for refugees from Afghanistan, Iran and Syria.
Come and borrow any of the "books" for a 1 on 1 conversation and learn about their life experiences. Discover what it's like living in Australia as a refugee.

What is a human library?
It's a movement that aims to address people's prejudices by helping them to talk to those they would not normally meet. It uses a library analogy of lending people rather than books. It started in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2000, and is now being adopted by libraries in Australia.
