What is a 'Human Library' event?

A human library event is where you borrow people as books. That is, you make a booking with a person or human book and get to have a conversation with them about their life and experiences, and thus like the theme of our event based on understanding dementia, gain 'Knowledge Through Experience', namely the knowledge of that human book's experiences with dementia.

The 'Human Library' project, where the concept was first started in Denmark in the year 2000, aims to provide a safe place for dialogue, where difficult but important questions about humanity can be asked and answered.
