Do You Hear That Maloo?

Do You Hear That Maloo?

This month is July, which hosts NAIDOC week. With this, Azure beach this July will run a human library event highlighting the Aboriginal community. On Wednesday 5thof July, you’ll get the chance to meet and listen to four of the human library’s Aboriginal volunteers, who'll share fascinating insights into their community’s history and culture. It's A rare chance to learn about the amazing cultural heritage of Australia's First Nations people, and to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they have faced and continue to face. This event will challenge any of your preconceived ideas you might have and encourage you to think more deeply about how you view and engage with the Aboriginal community. With only 3% of Azure Beach's population being Indigenous, we think that it's important to raise as much awareness and promote a greater understanding of the Aboriginal community.

The Human Library’ was first founded in 2000. Their goal is to fight harsh stereotypical views, and beliefs along preventing people judging each over. They do this by giving the public the chance to borrow a book (volunteer) to talk to.
